Area Description

Trojan is a very small suburb of Johannesburg which lies at the south end of Eloff street where the road splits into Turfontein (M9) and La Rochelle roads near to the Wembley Stadium and racetrack. La Rochelle road heads in a southeasterly direction into La Rochelle towards Regents Parkside. 

Turfontein road heads alongside the Robinson deep mine dump and the Turfontein racecourse towards the suburb of Turfontein and Turf Club. These are the most well-known of the Johannesburg (near) south suburbs. 

They are in Region F of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. La Rochelle is well known as one of the older and more established suburbs which was an area many of the Europeans who arrived in Johannesburg in the early century settled (mostly Portuguese).
